In contact with music since the age of 5 years ,Tatiana Babut du Mares stands out as a musical personality specialized in baroque and renaissance repertoire . She has been noticed very early as a recorder player in several competitions and as a soloist with orchestras and her own groups . From the age of 11 years , Tatiana Babut du Mares is welcomed by press, public and teachers for its exciting interpretations and inventive approaches. She founded the ensemble ” The Battalla ” and develops her creative talents, giving life to original programs mixing baroque and popular musics. She is the Director of “Pegasus ” Ensemble where she gathers around her an amateur choir of children and a professional orchestra.
Born in 1977 in Ghent, Belgium , she trained in academies of Braine – L’Alleud and Waterloo and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda Buenos Aires and the Centre for Early Music High School Musique of Genève. She obtained a master degree in flute, a bachelor in piano and a certificate of of academic studies in oboe. Between 1988 and 2003 , Tatiana Babut du Mares won several classical music competitions in Belgium (” Young Soloists ” Radio Télévision Belge Francophone , ” Jong Tenuto ” the Belgische Radio en Televisieomroep ” Musica Antiqua “of Bruges, … ), France (” Lucien Würmser “) and the Netherlands (” Sonbu “). In 2004 and 2005 , she won the scholarship of the Swiss Confederation ( FCS ).
Soloist , chamber music partner , director and designer, Tatiana combines her duties at the head of ” The Battalla “ensemble she founded in 2002. She explores repertoires of the seventeenth century baroque and traditional folk music by creating living connections between the audience and the musicians. She collaborates with many musical personalities and her concert activity was conducted in important festivals and scenes in Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland , France , Germany, Poland , Mexico , Bolivia and Argentina.
Tatiana Babut of Mares has recorded for labels “Cordes et Ames ” with The Battalla ” Ambronay ” and ” Ricercar ” with Cappella Mediterranea and the whole Clematis and “Ichec Culture ” with the Waterloo Chamber Orchestra.
